Eugenio de Espinosa was a soldier who served as interim governor of Florida between September 21, 1631 and July 29, 1633. He served together with Nicolás Ponce de León.〔Ben Cohoon. (U.S. States F-K ).〕 In his younger years Espinosa joined the Spanish Army, where he excelled, being appointment to Sergeant Major.〔 M. Hall, Jr., Joseph.
